Mokwheel is a California-based company that finds its forte in making one-of-a-kind and intelligent electric bikes. The Basalt e-bike, the brand's newest product, is more than an ordinary electric bicycle. Basalt is boldly billed as the world's first power station and e-bike fusion, and is offered in step-through and step-over versions.

As a bike, Basalt is an all-terrain vehicle that comes equipped with 26-inch by 4-inch fat tires, to allow you to cruise smoothly wherever you may roam—whether it’s muddy or rocky terrains, loose gravel, and all sorts of other landscapes. The bike’s off-road performance is improved by its adjustable hydraulic front fork with 110 mm of travel. Mokwheel’s power station/ e-bike creation has an aluminum frame, and can carry up to 400 pounds, or 181 kilograms of load.

Basalt is equipped with a 750W motor that produces 85 Nm of torque and has a top speed of 28 miles per hour (45 kilometers per hour). As for range, the built-in 48V/960Wh/20Ah battery on the e-bike claims to provide up to 85 miles (136 km) of range on a single charge. To top it all off, a versatile LED screen provides access to all important travel information.

Mokwheel's Basalt is already a competitive e-bike thanks to its all-terrain wide tires, powerful 750W motor, and huge battery, but it has something much more important up its sleeve. It has a unique inverter with solar charging compatibility, transforming it into a mobile power station.

The Mokwheel Basalt comes equipped with a unique inverter that allows you to charge a range of gadgets on the move, including cameras, phones, laptops, lights, electric cookers, and much more. It boasts a maximum power output of 1,000W and several interfaces, such as USB-C and DC output. It’s also compatible with solar panels ranging from 18 to 48 volts.

Mokwheel’s Basalt is currently undergoing funding through Indiegogo. While a firm price has yet to be set, Mokwheel looks to be able to sell the Basalt for less than $2,000 USD. If and when it’s able to peg it at this price point. it’ll surely make the Basalt a force to be reckoned with when it comes to superb value for money.
