The battery storage projects will be equipped with Trina Storage's BESS Elementa technology.
German energy storage company Trina Storage has partnered with inverter manufacturer Power Electronics to install more than 1GWh worth of battery energy storage system (BESS) projects by the end of next year.
The two companies signed a letter of intent for the partnership during the Intersolar Europe 2022 event this month.
The BESS systems will feature Trina Storage’s Elementa technology, a modular BESS solution claimed to offer up to 25% more cycles than its competitors.
Trina Storage Overseas Energy Storage business head Terry Chen said: “Integrating the powerful inverter with Trina Storage’s high-performance BESS is a necessary next step in building an increasingly promising storage future where customers’ requirements for higher system performance and lower risk BESS solution can be met.
“The collaboration will also expand opportunities for customers to have greater control of their assets and maximise the cost-effectiveness.”
Trina Storage’s Elementa solution was launched during the Intersolar Europe event and features Power Electronics PCSK battery inverters.
The company plans to introduce the technology in Europe before launching it in the US market.

Power Electronics produces solar inverters for photovoltaic (PV) plants in Europe, Oceania, Asia and America. Its products are installed in nearly 1,300 plants in 35 countries worldwide.
The company also has 60GW of installed alternating current (AC) power, which it claims has prevented more than 70.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
Trina Storage aims to ‘lead the renewable energy transition through cost-effective storage’. The company was launched last year as a business unit of Trina Solar.
